The Planet
The Planet
The Kolldrunn is one of three planets attached to a rogue star system, which itself was ejected from it's home galaxy an unknown number of years ago. The star, called by many different names by many different languages, is known as Teigkühle in the Teune language, which is the common language of men throughout that world.
General Characteristics
Kolldrunn encloses approximately 1.2713 times the volume of Earth. At the same time, the planet has a mass roughly 1.041675 times that of Earth, resulting in a slightly weaker acceleration due to gravity of 8.7 m/s over the surface of the planet. As if that was not similar enough to Earth, most of the planet is covered with ocean, with the ratio of land to ocean being 0.37, slightly more than the ratio of land to ocean on Earth. Indeed, looking at these statistics, one might almost come to the conclusion that the planet perhaps may have been designed with these features in mind.
Though, there are differences. First, the planet does not merely contain more land. It contains approximately 1.1735 times more land than Earth. That's a total of approximately 221429583.37 km², for an additional 72489583.37 km² more land! But even more than that, the total combined landmass of the Kolldrunn is distributed quite differently over 3 major super-continents: Muirn, Altayasländern, and the Suvyetsländern. Another fair amount of this landmass is also distributed over countless island chains and archipelagos scattered throughout the world's vast oceans.
